Can You Improve Your Memory?

“Memory” is the activity carried out in our brains to recall information
that we have gained through experiences in our lives. However, it is a complex process
which involves various parts of the brain, and serves us all in very different ways.

It can either be short term or long term.

If you are one of many people who think that they have a poor memory,
this may be because you do not know of effective ways in which to
not only acquire the information, but also the way in which
your brain processes it.

However, unless you are suffering from some type of disease, disorder or injury,
you should have the ability to improve your memory.

Although many people think that they have a bad memory, in truth, they don’t.

In fact, most of us have really good memories; it’s just that we are not well practiced
in using them to their full effectiveness.

Yet, if this is true, then why do some people find it so hard to remember certain things?

We do all have the potential to remember anything that we want to remember.
It is just a matter of us exercising the old gray cells (the brain) enough.

One of the helpful eBooks I have to offer from my Health & Wellness Digital Package
is How to Improve Your Memory and I can honestly say
I took advantage of a couple of the tricks in the book myself. :-)

Here is a video with Dr. Angela Chen on How To Improve Your Memory

Understanding ADHD

My son, Justin, is now 22. He was born 7 weeks early and was born having an asthma attack.
I had been prepared for some health problems with his being born so early – he weighed
5 pounds, 10 ounces and compared to my oldest child who was full term and weighed
7 pounds and 6 ounces, he was TINY.

He developed normally and did everything by the age he should have or even earlier,
so I relaxed a bit and just enjoyed this bright, inquisitive, energetic and spirited child.
He was very friendly, out-going and a real lovey-dovey kid who everyone just adored.

But by the time he turned three and had still never slept over more than four hours
out of twenty-four, his pediatrician suspected he might have ADHD,
or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.

I was sure the doctor must be mistaken as I had only ever heard negative things
about ADHD kids and my kid was smarter than average, could say his A, B, C’s
BACKWARD by 3 years old and asked questions so advanced for his age
that I often had to look in an encyclopedia to find the answers!
( Too bad we did not have the internet then,
this kid was made for the wealth of information at our fingertips now. )

Justin was tested and was found to have one of the worst cases of ADHD
that the doctors and specialists had seen. He was given prescription meds
to calm him down, allow him to sleep and later, when he started school,
to concentrate.

This was not a bad kid, this was a kid who could not filter
the millions of things going on in his brain all at once AND
could not sit still for a minute.

Luckily, a lot more is known nowadays about this disorder, BUT
there are not only a lot of myths as well but also a lot of parents
and teachers cop out and use the term ADHD when they get
frazzled and frustrated by a child who will or cannot pay attention
or who will or cannot sit still.
